I’m so excited to share Peter and Abbey’s special Tennessee mountain wedding with you today on the blog! This day was filled with one special moment after the next.
I worked with Peter at camp and met Abbey during my second summer there. Fun fact: they are the very first couple I took photos of. Like, ever! They have always trusted me from the beginning and I love them for that. Both come from very loving families who know how to love people well.
About three years ago, I flew to them for their mountaintop proposal. Then, one year later I flew back for their wedding. During this weekend, I got to stay with their family and, honestly, was treated like family the whole time, too.
Their wedding weekend just so happened to be my birthday weekend, so they planned to have a birthday cake for me at their reception. How sweet is that?! Everyone sang happy birthday to me, too. When I say these two are amazing human beings, I mean it. There was intentionality behind every detail of their day, and the same intentionality overflows into their daily lives as well.
Abbey and Peter’s wedding day was filled with one tender touch after the next. For example, Abbey had one of her friends pick some wildflowers on the day-of to make her bridal bouquet. Her mom even helped with her makeup! Every detail about their day was just so intentional and filled with celebration!
After their ceremony, Abbey and Peter had lunch with both of their families while the rest of the wedding guests went and did their own thing. Then, me, Abbey and Peter, and their siblings drove to the gorgeous Roan Mountain about an hour from the venue to take wedding photos. It was SO much fun! I just remember thinking to myself, “Holy cow, I can’t believe I get to take these photos.” I hadn’t even been photographing weddings on my own for a year at that point, so I felt super thankful to have this opportunity.
If the pictures aren’t enough to tell, Abbey and Peter are just so in love with each other and it was an absolute joy to watch them begin their happily ever after.
Funny enough, today is actually Abbey and Peter’s two-year anniversary. Happy anniversary, you two! Here’s to many, many more.

Some of these images were taken while second shooting with other photographers. If I am unavailable for your day, I would be more than happy to send you to one of these trusted photographer friends of mine.
