When planning Kacelyn and Ty’s engagement session, Kacelyn asked if there were any places I had always wanted to shoot a session. I sent her a list and mentioned Marfa! Lucky for me, she was all about it AND her and Ty lived fairly close to the small town.
On an August afternoon, I hit the road for San Angelo to meet Kacelyn and Ty. We spent the evening at Kacelyn’s parents house for some wake surfing, an insane sunset boat ride, and family dinner. I mean, truly… I’m so thankful for their crew. I felt right at home immediately.
The next day we drove to Marfa to hang out and create some moments together! We started at the iconic Prada Marfa, drove back into town for a few more downtown moments, and then finished their session on our way out of town. Kacelyn hoped a fence in her dress and heels, we watched a train roll through the desert in the distance, and it was all just a sweet, west Texas dream.
With a four hour drive back, we had McDonalds on the tailgate of Ty’s truck and once again, I was feeling so thankful. Clients quickly turned to friends.
I can’t wait to keep celebrating these two in the new year!!!
