Today on the blog, I’m sharing a warm and sunny laidback Texas engagement session with my friends, Caroline and Caleb. Enjoy!
Caroline and Caleb discovered me through a mutual connection and decided to reach out about capturing their upcoming wedding day. I was so bummed because I was unavailable for their booked date. The silver lining in this, though, is that they still asked me to take their engagement photos, which I was so thankful for, and we made it happen!
As it turned out, we ended up having to reschedule not once, not twice, but three times because of rain. Caroline and Caleb were all about those sunshine photos, so we waited for the right time. And I gotta say, I’m so glad we did. Their session was so warm and fun!
I remember driving to their session, praying that God would make it an easy-flowing time of just being with each other and celebrating all that He has done in their lives. He certainly came through, because it was all of that and more.
We started the day on the street Caroline lives on. Her house was super special to them because it was a place where their relationship really grew. I love that we got to include special places that were a reflection of how far their relationship has come. Then, we went to Lakeside Park. It’s such a beautiful park! Prior to their engagement, Caroline and Caleb spent alot of time developing their relationship here. After Lakeside, we went to White Rock Lake in Dallas, which is where they got engaged. Don’t you just love how much meaning each of these locations hold for these two?!
The entire session felt like I was just hanging out with good friends of mine. After our session, Caroline and Caleb took me to dinner. It was so, so fun and they used the time to pour into me. Once I walked away rom our time together, I felt deeply encouraged. Something that Caleb shared with me that really stuck out to me was, “The best part of today is the best part of tomorrow, and the best part of this season is the best part of the next season. And that is, we get to be with Jesus everyday.” How true is this? And how often do we forget this important truth?
I drove back to Forth Worth that evening just feeling overwhelmingly thankful. Now, me and Caroline are having coffee soon. I’m so thankful for a growing friendship and for the gift of connection. God is in every detail, friends. He truly is.
