Today on the blog, I’m sharing the cutest story behind Raime and Cam’s beautiful botanical proposal. I just love these two, and I know you will too! Enjoy!
I hold a special place in my heart for these two. I worked with Raime at Breakaway on the creative team for a year or two, and she is a talented graphic designer.
One day, Raime texted me saying that they were going to Moab, Utah, and wanted to know if I had any inspiration for outfits and etc to share with her. Long story short, I ended up booking my sister Bradie and I a flight to meet them for a sunset session. Then, we woke up the next morning for a sunrise session. We were there for less than 48 hours, but it was SO much fun!
Needless to say, I was so excited when Cam reached out to me later that fall about shooting their proposal. Getting to plan all the details with him was super sweet because he was just so excited. It was pretty easy to get Raime there because I had always told her I loved taking photos of them. So, when I asked her if she and Cam would be up for a photoshoot I had been inspired to do, she didn’t think anything of it.
When we got there, you could tell Cam was ready to get to the spot he was going to propose. It took about 30 seconds worth of photos for me to realize he was about to burst (me too honestly) and we needed to get this show on the road. So, I gave him the special prompt, which was to stand back to back. But Cam was so nervous that he missed his queue! No worries though. Happens to the best of us. When he realized this he suggested another prompt, which was to stand face-to-face and hold hands. Once they got in position, Cam went down on that knee and popped the big question! It was so perfect, and Raime was shocked- in the best way, of course.
Both of their families then came out from hiding and Raime cried all over again. There were so many sweet and tender moments of celebration, and I’m thankful to be the one who got to capture it all. After their family left, we got some really sweet and official engagement photos to celebrate.
I absolutely love that I get to be a part of some of the most intimate moments for couples and their families. It’s such a joy and privilege, and I’m constantly reminded of just how thankful I am for my job when I find myself in these moments of celebration.
