After moving to Fort Worth, one of the things I looked most forward to as a photographer was scouting out some new sweet spots. That being said, today on the blog I am sharing 5 session-worthy Fort Worth locations! Whether you are a couple on the hunt for a location for your engagement session or if you are a photographer looking to be inspired, be sure to check out the locations below! Enjoy!
The Kimbell Art Museum is a great session option for you if you enjoy variety! It offers a combination of greenery and modern architecture. It’s also directly west of downtown, in the heart of Fort Worth, which makes it easy to get to. I enjoy shooting there because of the variety it offers, but also because it offers some really awesome lighting in certain spots! I’ve seen all kinds of sessions here, from engagements and bridals to elopements and wedding portraits. If you have any additional questions about this particular spot, let me know and I will be glad to assist!
When thinking about all the places I wanted to share with you today, The Darkroom was a given! It’s a natural light studio really close to TCU here in Fort Worth, and it’s a really neat place to shoot if you are looking for a blank canvas. The way the light spills into room one gives me all the heart eyes and excitement as a photographer. There are a ton of seamless backdrops to work with, too, which makes this space all the more fun to create in.
Tandy Hills is a really beautiful outdoor spot that is directly east of Fort Worth. As you are driving there, it kind of feels like you are going the wrong way. I say that because it’s tucked inside the back of a neighborhood. But I’ve got to tell ya- this spot offers such a gorgeous view of the skyline!
The beauty that accompanies the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens is without question. There is so much to work with here, and I love that! Regardless of what season you find yourself in, the botanical gardens offer endless beauty for the backdrop of your photos, year-round.
If you are unfamiliar with The Stockyards, it is a historic district here in Fort Worth filled with shops and eateries galore. It undoubtedly offers a Fort Worth experience one should not miss out on! The Stockyards is one of those places where, if you take the time to look for some gold nuggets for photos, you will find them! That being said, I definitely suggest checking it out before the session so you will know where you want to shoot at and how to get there.
Galen + Dillon (pictured below) hold The Stockyards close to their heart. When getting to know them, I learned this was where their relationship started to take off, so I knew we had to incorporate it into their session. To see their full session at the Stockyards and Tandy Hills, click here.
